Discipleship
Spiritual Foundation
At TAM, discipleship is not a program — it is the heartbeat of everything we do. Every child, family, and community we serve is brought into a living encounter with Jesus Christ.
"Transform African Ministries exists to disciple and empower people for transformation in Jesus' name."
— TAM Mission Statement
The Foundation
More Than Education — Whole-Life Transformation
TAM's discipleship model goes far beyond Sunday school. It is a holistic, 5–7 year intentional journey of walking alongside children and families — nurturing their faith, forming their character, and equipping them to become resilient leaders who transform their communities.
Every sponsored child receives not only school fees and meals, but also consistent, loving mentorship from TAM staff who are committed to their spiritual growth and wellbeing. Discipleship is woven into every interaction — from home visits to school encouragement, from prayer sessions to life-skills coaching.
We believe that lasting transformation — personal, family, and community — is only possible when rooted in a relationship with Jesus Christ. That is why discipleship sits at the centre of everything TAM does.

How It Works
What Discipleship Looks Like at TAM
Home Visits
TAM staff regularly visit each child and family at home — knowing them by name, praying with them, and walking through life together.
Bible Teaching
Children receive age-appropriate Biblical teaching, memory verse programmes, and Christian values training throughout their school years.
Mentorship Groups
Small group discipleship circles where children are mentored by trained local leaders in faith, character, and life skills.
Camps & Conferences
Annual youth camps and family conferences that deepen faith, build community, and mark key milestones in each child's journey.
Counselling & Prayer
Regular pastoral care for children and families navigating hardship — grief, sickness, family breakdown, and school stress.
Graduation Ceremonies
Milestones are celebrated — PLE, UCE, and university graduation are marked as spiritual moments, not just academic ones.
The Journey
5–7 Years of Intentional Discipleship
Every child in TAM's programme receives consistent, faithful discipleship from enrolment through graduation.
Welcoming & Assessment
Child is enrolled, assessed spiritually and academically, and welcomed into the TAM family. A dedicated mentor is assigned.
Foundation Building
Core Biblical teaching and discipleship begin. Weekly mentorship, home visits, and prayer become regular rhythms.
Character Formation
Life skills, leadership development, and deeper spiritual formation. Children begin to mentor younger peers.
Equipping & Sending
Final academic milestones are achieved. Children and families are equipped for independence and commissioning as community leaders.
